Science and magic will collide at the Danville Library on Thursday as the town is graced by a visit from local magician Alan the Amazing.
Alan Kahn (a.k.a. Alan the Amazing) is a magician who also teaches science at a San Jose middle school. He is currently presenting his "Science Magic" show at libraries and summer camps in Northern California.
The show may appear at first to be your usual magic show, Kahn said, but in fact "there are no magic tricks."
"Everything you see is being done to show how science is not only all around us, but has a captivating, magical quality," he said.
Kahn will be at the Danville Library, 400 Front St., from 3-3:45 p.m. The show is free and no tickets required.
Kahn has presented the "Science Magic" show at county fairs, STEM & Science festivals, Maker Faires and school science fairs. He is also a member of the renowned Hollywood clubhouse The Magic Castle, open only to magicians and their guests.
Some of the magical science attendees can expect to see Thursday includes air pressure strength, the Bernoulli Principle, Newton's 1st Law of Motion and more.
